China-Cuba trade up 57%

Trade between China and Cuba from January to September hit US$1.6 billion, or a 57% increase year-on-year. China is now Cuba’s second biggest trading partner next to Venezuela. Chinese exports to Cuba were valued at US$1.33 billion in the first nine months of this year for an 82.4% rise. Cuban exports to China though fell because of a decline in nickel production, Cuba’s main export besides tobacco. Over 40 Chinese firms will take part in the 33rd Havana International Fair on 2-7 November.
